The Double Cone Vacuum Dryer achieves uniform drying and gentle mixing of materials through double-cone rotation in a low-temperature vacuum environment. It is particularly well-suited for heat-sensitive, easily oxidized, toxic, hazardous, or high-value-added powders and granular materials, and is widely used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries.
Principle
1. Vacuum Environment Creation: A vacuum pump evacuates air from the vessel to establish a vacuum level of -0.08 to -0.098 MPa, significantly lowering the boiling point of the moisture (water/solvent) within the material (e.g., the boiling point of water is approximately 45°C at 10 kPa).
2. Indirect Heating: Steam, hot water, or thermal oil is circulated through the jacket, transferring heat evenly to the material via the vessel's inner wall.
3. Dynamic Mixing and Drying: A motor drives the vessel to rotate at 3–12 rpm; the material continuously tumbles-moving up and down as well as inward and outward-within the double-cone structure, ensuring contact with the vessel wall without dead zones and resulting in high heat transfer efficiency (heat transfer coefficient U = 116–140 W/(m²·K)).
4. Moisture Removal: Evaporated water vapor or solvent vapor is continuously extracted through the vacuum pipeline, achieving efficient drying.
