Vacuum Drying Oven Manufacturers Tell You How To Troubleshoot Leaks.

Dec 03, 2025|

The vacuum level in the vacuum drying oven is raised to the required level. After a period of time, the vacuum level will decrease. What if the vacuum valve and vacuum tube have been replaced? This indicates that the vacuum drying oven is leaking. What should you do if the drying oven is leaking? How do you investigate?

Through research and discussion with vacuum drying oven manufacturers, it was found that the most difficult problem to check in vacuum drying ovens is leakage inside the container. First, pour some water into the container, then close the door and evacuate the air, then turn the container upside down. If there are air bubbles in a certain spot, that is the leak point.

If possible, use argon arc welding. There are other methods for denitrification. If you put nitrogen in the vacuum furnace, drip foam onto the possible leak points. If the foam continues to expand, there will be gaps. Another method is to prepare several buckets of detergent water and a syringe. Take the syringe and spray the detergent onto the places you think might be leaking. Carefully observe whether there are bubbling points at the injection site to prove that this is a leak.

If the door seal is slightly loose, as long as the vacuum drying oven reaches a certain negative pressure, there is no problem. First, evacuate the air and check if the negative pressure gauge can reach the standard atmospheric pressure. If the pointer changes slowly during the vacuuming process, try pushing the door inward to see if a vacuum can be created. If a vacuum can be created, simply turn the door a few times.

If you cannot push the door by hand, the screws securing the heating element to the lining may be loose. Therefore, you will need to remove the back panel (wear gloves and a mask during disassembly, as the insulating surfaces are typically made of silicate material, which can be uncomfortable to the skin). Then, locate the heating element and tighten the screws securing the heating element again.
